What a better way than to get friends and family together for an afternoon or evening of fun by sharing a common interest and love in crafting, particularly, scrapbooking. Show and tell your newest pieces of work, finish works in progress, learn a new technique, work with a new tool; these and the comraderie are the fun when hosting a crop or going to one.

Plan your crop several weeks in advance so as to give everyone a chance to put it on their calendars. Figure out how many you can have comfortably at your home (unless you are planning a really big crop and holding at hall). Serving simple finger foods and drinks compliment the crop; everybody needs a break, right?  You will need an adequate number of tables and chairs so that your guests are uncrowded and unfettered by someone else's scrapbooking. If you have die-cutters and tools that you may want to share with your guests; decide which ones you want and label them. Unfortunately, too many times someone has lost a precious item at a crop and if there's no name on it; it's difficult to find the owner. Your invite should state the time and place and directions. Most crops start early in the day and go to late in the evening. Smaller vendor held crops may start later and end sooner.

Plan some fun activities for your crop: Challenges, swaps, garage sales (mini one held in your home with just a table for things folks want to sell), games, and contests too.

Whatever you plan, make sure it includes lots of fun! Your guests will be wanting to know when your next crop will be held!
